Pediatric Eye Care
We see children! Our doctors treat a variety of pediatric conditions. There are lots of vision problems that may arise as your child ages. Common conditions children have with their eyes include, blurry vision, double vision, amblyopia (commonly known as lazy eye), strabismus (commonly called cross eye), and red, irritated eyes. These conditions are all treatable and can be managed with routine visits to the eye doctor.
Once kids start going to school they may notice that is hard to see the front of the class room. If your child is complaining they cannot see to read either, the board in classroom or their books at home it is time to bring them in to see us!
We will fit children for contact lens. It is important to note that each child is different, here is no specific age requirement for a child to be fitted for contacts. However a general rule of thumb is children around the age of 11 can start thinking about contact lens usage. Our doctors take several important factors into the decision to fit your child for contacts including, age, maturity, vision needs, and activity level.
It is important for everyone including, your children, to have their eyes checked at least once a year to ensure eye health.
